I am currently Managing Partner, Digital at Leo Burnett. I joined the team not long ago (November 2008) and am enjoying every day. We are a small team, but won’t stay small for long. The client list includes: Subaru, AAPT, Bundy, Canon, Earth Hour, Fairfax Digital, Colonial First State, Energy Australia, RaboBank, Heineken and other great brands.
Prior to that I was General Manager at Mark Sydney, M&C Saatchi’s Direct, Digital and Data company. I joined the team in January 2008, as employee number 48. The team is now up to 72 people and continuing to grow. We worked on great clients such as Optus, Qantas, IAG, Woolworths, Westfields and a number of others.
Previously, I set up Wunderman, GPY&R and Y&R Brands digital department, joining the team as the second digital person and helping to grow it to about 120 digital people in three states, five years later. Y&R Brands was great place to learn, especially around understanding the commercials with running a business and realities involved in servicing clients. Key clients included Telstra, Suncorp, CareerOne, News Ltd, Westpac, Microsoft and other clients.
Before that, I spent nine months in the UK working at Wheel:, one of the UK’s biggest and most awarded agencies. It was there I got to work on Marks & Spencer, focusing on their eCommerce website and defining a path to help make it their number two store, only behind the flagship store.
Rewind to my career commencement:
I grew up in Queensland and started my career in Brisbane at Marketshare, a marketing, research and consulting company. From there, I went to f5, a web development agency that later turned into an advertising agency. After being exposed to advertising, I was fascinated by it and wanted to try to bring the online (web development) and advertising world together. So after a few years at f5, I went to Clemenger Proximity to help them set up their digital offering in Brisbane. One of the greatest things was Brisbane’s offering was more advanced than the Sydney offering…….all those years ago. The best was that I started dating my wonderful husband while working there. He is currently working at Downstream Online, the most advanced search marketing agency in Australia.
